Overview

When trying to Update BlackBerry Passport smartphone software using BlackBerry Link for Mac, the update process completes, however the device software does not update to the newest available version.

Also if trying to reload BlackBerry Passport from an unrecoverable state using BlackBerry Link for Mac software, the Passport does not connect successfully to BlackBerry Link and the reload stops abruptly.

Resolution

Update the BlackBerry Link for Mac software version 1.2.2.

The latest available BlackBerry Link for Mac software is bundled with BlackBerry Blend for Mac software. Install BlackBerry Blend Software from http://www.blackberry.com/blend.

Ensure that during the installation, at the Custom Install stage, enable the checkbox for BlackBerry Link, then Continue and Complete the installation.
